National Gambling Addiction Counselling Service Launched in Galway. Helplink Mental Health – a registered charity, providing accessible services locally in the West of Ireland, nationally and internationally has now joined forces with the Gambling Awareness Trust to provide a national gambling addiction / gambling dependency counselling service; that is available for free; 7 days a week and out-of-hours. This year the Gambling Awareness Trust has funded a number of organisations to provide a range of support services to people coping with problem gambling and gambling addiction. In February we were delighted to attend the launch of Help Link Mental Health Service. This new service is dedicated to providing problem gambling specific supports across the country. Through the provision of a free, national problem gambling problem / addiction counselling service that is available 7 days a week and out-of-hours, online or by phone. This service is provided by fully accredited addiction counsellors for young people (aged 16 to 18 years) and adults alike.
