Hospital Family Resource Centre

The overall aim of Hospital FRC is to actively provide support to and highlight issues affecting vulnerable and isolated people in the area and influencing change to make our community more inclusive.

Our Activities Include:

  • Supporting vulnerable groups such as those experiencing rural isolation, women, carers, men, older people, parents, children, LGBT and youth.
  • Raising awareness and providing support in relation to issues including Disability, Drugs, Mental Health and Domestic Abuse.
  • Provision of a counselling service in the area.
  • Family support work – including Parent Support Programme and Strengthening Families Programme.
  • Facilitating, developing and promoting relevant training and educational needs of individuals and groups.
  • Highlighting the needs of local communities and influencing policy.
  • PR, advertising and outreaching in our community providing relevant information to individuals and groups.

Our vision is of an inclusive community embracing diversity.

Our mission statement is to empower individuals and families with a welcoming open door to supports and services, responding to community needs and challenging inequality.

Fees: We charge a nominal fee however we do not turn anyone away if they cannot afford this.
Hours of Availability: 9 – 5.30 Monday – Friday with evening groups also on site.

Our Vision for the community is to be full of engaged, well-adjusted, confident individuals and for the community to reach its full potential. Our Mission is to work with the community to encourage and enable all children, families, individuals and groups to actively participate and be included in a society that is free from prejudice, inequality, discrimination and exclusion and which will contribute to their greatest possible well-being.

Croom Family Resource Centre is guided by community development principles of participation, inclusion, equality and collective action.

The overall aim of Croom Family Resource Centre is to actively provide support to and highlight issues affecting vulnerable and isolated people in the area and influencing change to make our community more inclusive.

Croom Family Resource Centre focuses on providing Family Support in an inclusive and empowering way, this is achieved through the provision of a variety of services.

Currently, Croom Family Resource Centre addresses the needs of local families and facilitates access to childcare facilities and supports, provision of facilities and services for young people, local community services, counselling, signposting for information and delivery of education and training.

Croom Family Resource Centre is committed to needs-led responses, and a central feature of the FRC is community participation in all aspects of the centre, including management.

Croom Family Resource Centre focuses on providing community and family support in an inclusive and empowering way, this is achieved through the provision of a variety of services.

Croom Family Resource Centre delivers:

  • Community Childcare services and supports (pre-school, breakfast club, afterschools service)
  • A Family Support service (Individual / family supports & parenting programmes / initiatives)
  • Community Development Programmes & Initiatives
  • Community based child & youth provision (Rainbows Programme, LGBTI+ Youth supports, Holiday Provision)
  • Facilities and services for target groups / community groups (Older persons services – e.g., Chiropody, Issue based / Interest groups e.g., mental health & wellbeing)
  • Access to therapeutic Services (Counselling / Psychotherapy, Play therapy, Equine Therapy)
  • Delivery of Community education and training programmes (accredited and unaccredited)

Fees: Croom Family Resource Centre is not a fee-based service.

We apply a voluntary donation policy towards the running costs of some initiatives.
