Raising awareness about gambling and the potential harms that can arise when it becomes a problem is a very important part of the work we do. We also want people who realise that they have a problem or are worried about someone close to them to know where & how to get the help they need. We’ve approached this in many ways, always trying to create campaigns that will resonate with people.
When writer & actor Ken Hudson reached out to us to discuss his play ‘The 3:30 at Cheltenham’, we immediately saw the power his script & his story had to reach people. We are so pleased to support this show & collaborate with Ken & Gúna Nua Theatre Company in telling this powerful story.
Opening night is fast approaching & will be followed by a panel discussion including contributions from our Brand Ambassador Oisín McConville & one of our service providers Mags Nash, along with Ken & the Guna Nua team, which is sure to be compelling. We want people thinking & talking about this show, that’s how you reduce stigma & encourage people to reach out & get help.
The show runs from 18th to 21st September in The Civic Theatre in Tallaght.
Don’t worry if you can’t get to Tallaght, Ken & the Guna Nua crew will be taking the show across the country, anywhere there’s a gambling support service. Keep an eye out for the list of venues & dates in the coming weeks.
